Hi!

About Me:

I'm a Game Designer (althought I can do almost any task, ie. coding, modelling, animations, music, etc...) who recently moved from Blitz3d to B3D SDK. But since I needed a faster and more professional tool to develope my commercial games, I came to this lib.

I'm from Barcelona, Spain. As a former indie game developer, I've done a lot of simple and casual games (and most of them incomplete, because of the lack of personel: most people soon abandon games as they get bored with.. :evil: GRRR). I've decided to live and work inside VideoGame Industry, after many years of trying, so no matter what happens, I'll stay here. 8)

I finished a Master degree at UPF University last year. Along with 3 mates , we did a 3rd person Action Game, as a final project's course. We won a PSP console and the "most complete game" Award. A year ago I also win a "Best Graphics Game" Award at the same contest. (It's Show, btw..)

About Indielib:

Indielib is a great 2D game engine(also a good basic 3D one..) and one of the fastest I ever tried. Learning curve is so good you can start coding your shooter in a couple of minuts.

Not just the syntax and entity's structure, which reminds me Blitz3D's one, but also the fact it can manage vector sprites (Paper Mario, anyone?), has a nice tile system, and supports animation by xml files with in-frame timing, among other stuff...

It's done in Directx9 from scratch, so It's really fast, and it can be upgraded with Shader support, and a lot of more tech.

I recommend to anyone who still uses Blitz3d for 2D games, to check this lib. It's really awesome! :D

Hi! My nickname here is Kaugh because i was registred since the forums opened. My actual nickname is Necrozard, I´m learning how to program in c++ and im doing very good, i think that in a couple of months i will be testing this fabulous library.

Congrats Javi, the comments in the blog and in others web pages, reflects your work in this library, its really great.

I have a little Development Group, we create 2D Interactive Games with programming knowledge, we used to create them with Fenix and Blitz3D, but now we are going to make the new project with Indie Lib.

So, i have nothing more to say about me and this library, congratulations and be sure that this library will be a big success, good luck.

I don't like DirectX but in this case i make an exception :wink:

Hope there's a tutorial about the 3d stuff soon :D

I've been doing game dev for about a year and a half, almost exclusively using Torque Game Engine by Garage Games. The hitch is, I actually want to develop a game in C#, that can use Mono, so that it can be cross platform, and the Garage Games engines that would allow me to do this cost hundreds of dollars... :? .

I don't know if this project can help me do this, but I've yet to see a really good C# graphics engine that works with Mono since Axiom.

I've built shooters, Mil-Sim, MMO, and RTS titles. a vast majority of which are proprietary, and I can't talk about them. But I can say that I hope IndiLib lives up to the hype...

im Brazilian, im starting in the world of programming (working with C++ and C#) but im still bad on that thing, program games is a dream, and i was looking for a good and easy-to-start engine, and indielib was the one!

Hi!

I'm not a game designer actually. I work in compiler project :)
Recently I came to an idea of playing with graph visualization as graphs are widely used in compiler internal representations. So I was looking for a 2D library to render the graph layout.

For now I believe that indielib is what I need. I've played with it a little already and I think it's great. I like it for simpe API and fairly rich functionality.

I also would like to contribute the project if I can. Please let me know the proper way.
