Hello all!

Shaders are planned in the future: http://www.indielib.com/wiki/index.php? ... eloper_FAQ

I would like just to make a small petition about shaders: they should be implemented in an "optional way". I mean, you will have the option of initializing them (and of course the method should check if the user computer allow them). But they won't be mandatory. You will be able to use IndieLib and create games without shaders.

I think is a great thing that IndieLib will work in really old computers :)

And with proper initializing methods that will detect if user can use them or not, programmers will be able to create different game configurations. Like for example Aquaria game, that allow you to play without shaders (but you won't see water waves this way).

I'm sure you had that in mind, but... just in case! :)

 I agree with you.Maybe supply by optional way is a good idea. :P
but I don't know how to make some specific effect without shader.By handle every pixel of the image in one loop when render?

I'm actually thinking on how to architecture the whole thing. By the way, GL and DX have different shader languages, so it will be really difficult for desktop in win.

Im thinking on supporting only GL shaders for now.

Also javier, could you give some architecture ideas for inplementing shaders?

I've never worked with shaders, sorry :(

But I'm enjoying this reading: https://developer.nvidia.com/sites/defa ... _China.pdf

Check it out :)
